Soon we will have a couple of new sponsors with links on this frontpage and in our forums.
One of our newest forum members is Will and he builds custom rods. His site will be ready anyday now, Big Willy's Rods. He's a welcome addition already with his incites and experiences having fishied for many years across the U.S.
With the ice fishing season upon us, we'll also have a company that makes Tip-Downs. This new product has a different take on the classic tip-up. From their website... Unlike conventional tip-ups, tip-downs produce more fish simply because there is no resistance when a fish grabs the bait. You can see more at this link... tip downs.
Check with others in the forum or at our local bait & tackle shops to see how the lakes are doing ice-wise. Usually we'll hear that the northern reservoirs are freezing first. PLEASE BE CAREFUL, don't take any chances until the ice is tested and thick enough to be on. We have one forum dedicated to ice fishing so check it out as the season moves on. John, at Bob's Sport & Tackle usually sets up a few ice fishing derbies so check with him before you squeeze that giant brown trout through the hole in the ice.
It's still a little early, get your gear ready, check your supplies, plan strategies, scout spots, ask around.
John is setting up another get together at his shop, Bob's Sport & Tackle, Sunday October 16th. It's becoming an annual event. Starting around noon stop by and say hello.
I had a great time last year seeing a bunch of our members and trying venison for the first time. I'll hopefully have the first batches of shirts and stickers to be picked up, if you've ordered anything.
John also allows us to have a little bit of a swap meet. Please call and ask him if you want to bring something along to trade or sell. I'll probably have some extra gear myself, as I did last year.
See you there, Vinny
We have a great crew already in the forums. People are always helpful and generous with their information. Here's a nice quote from a new member this week... "Hi all. I'm really enjoying the wealth of knowledge and genuinely helpful, friendly advice on this board. Sure beats Googling for hours on end when lots of info is right here. Along these lines, I am in the market for a new (first) rod and reel."

It's a friendly group of beginners and advanced anglers.
They are always helpful.
