Congrats! I've caught a few White Perch in the 1.5 lb range out of Cross River
years ago but I've never seen one as big as that. Good eating.

I got him on a gold flutter spoon Sidewinder 3/8oz the Whites  suspend and the flutter spoon drops slow. The kastmaster in 1/2oz  silver kept in contact with the bottom with a light drift  keeps getting nice yellows . I  did not release this guy he  made it to the plate !

Were you jigging those metals?
Or casting and retreiving?

I do both I cast near sawbely schools with the flutter spoon and jig the Kastmaster over schools  .This was a cast at a sawbelly school . make sure to reel then pause they hit the drop alot.Without my new portable fish finder finding those whites  are pure luck .They are stacked up in a few spots around the main creek basin .All you guys who helped with my fishfinder purchase your info was worth gold thanks again all .I use mostly just ultralight rods but always keep a medium bass rig in reach .This fish felt like a how a Blackdrum fights he made three runs on the drag not far but great for 4lb test.

Jack Stewarts book say find the whites then chum with leaf /trout worms over your anchor spot in late summer  ! I guess the frenzy starts under the boat I think jigging a kastmaster tipped with a worm chunk would them nail these guys in .I think I'm going to try this soon.I gonna  cut up the trout worms still in the cup ,find suspended fish on sonar in 25 ft of water anchor up ,chum then jig with the tipped spoon. I think 4 cups is 8 doz trout worms 10 bucks .I will use 1 cup for bait and start chumming with 1 cup cut save the others when the action slows .Chumming with anything except terrestrials is not legal in NYC res !

Just looked back on the solunar chart and the peak time was when I got this.I was the darker shade day of the slow week !Check your back catches to see if it lines up with your catches or Skunked trips.I think Ken had some great action around the peak this month! Im interested in some feedback.
