titicus 7-31-10
it was a bad day for bass fishing but a good day for big yellow perch.i caught one bass that weighed 3-9 after fishing from 6 am to 12 .it hit a rapla square lipped shallow running crankbait.the fish fought really hard and took a while to come up.i was lucky it was hooked well.the rest of my fish were 3 yellow perch all over 12 inches that hit a deep diving rapala dt 16.one fought so hard i thought it was a bass.the weeds are looking better every time i go out but are still far behind what they were and the fishing has suffered.

I'm always getting perch on rapalas on Kensico and Bog Brook. I bought a 6" perch wake bait that's really accurate with the coloring but haven't gotten any big bass to bite it yet. May have to try it on Croton also.

Thanks for the report and photo,
Vinny

I ve been dragging a perch kickin minnow around behind the boat when rowing to the next hole or spot no luck yet .Jack Stewarts book says the tiger was last stocked in 2003 so they are almost at max age.Very low reports of caught tigers but not many have targeted them so no  wire leaders and fish have been lost ! And they dont breed, but they must be out there more then enough forage to sustain such a beast LOL .The pikerel and muskie season Will pick up at the end of this month so get those wire leaders and Big blade spinner baits ready for those toothy monsters!
