Congratulations on a fine catch. I have recently gone out on Cross River several times with nothing in the boat. I hope this means that Cross River is past it's coma stage!

Any of you Cross river guys ever catch a green smallmouth ?My old Cross River boat is long gone.15 yrs back   I caught many Regular Smallmouth around the islands ,Largemouth in the weeds.RockBass and  weird Green Smallies. I nevertook a picture of them .I wonder if they are still there they seem to be in deep outside weed edge.If any one gets a picture of one that would be great Big or Small they have red eyes! I saw this in wiki so it must be common.

Their habitat plays a significant role in their color, weight, and shape. River water smallmouth that live among dark water tend to be rather torpedo shaped and very dark brown in order to be more efficient for feeding. Lakeside smallmouth bass however, that live for example in sandy areas, tend to be a light yellow brown to adapt to the environment in a defensive state and are more oval shaped
