Bass are all over the shallows .I have not been going for them but just been watching! Got some crappies last night and this morning Drifting 5ft 10 ft all undersized on  worms. They seem to be moving around in schools not holding. No luck with the perch. Few under 1lb bass  around outside edge cruising .Great weather

The bass seem to need another week or two to wake up and get more aggressive. They were very passive on Kensico today.

Best Always,

Newer fished before at New Croton. Stayed overnight August 30th with my buddy pretty close to the dam . Around 8 p.m we were lucky with two consecutive hits. They were trouts probably lakers( never caught  such fish before). 6 lbs and 9 lbs, very sharp double layer teeth. Would appreciate for the fish identification reply.

Those are Brown Trout. And a pair of very very good sized ones!
Congratulations!  You caught these from shore at night?

Looks like Browns...from what I know Lake Trout are much darker...Awesome Trout Regardless!

What did you catch them on?

New Croton doesn't get any stockings of brown trout..A few go over the dam at Muscoot..so the odds of catching one are tough but two almost impossible..I think these were caught somewhere else and we are getting rope a doped..for sure..I was born at night but not last night..

After New Croton the water goes into a 12 ft Pipe and gets Chlorinated .Years of fish cant go any lower in the system. My guess is Diverting if not already will be sending some walleye down here .Heavy rains are most likely how it happens
