First lunker of the year
« on: April 07, 2010, 02:33:05 pm »
Went out early this morning before the wind kicked up and got a largemouth a bit under 4 1/2 lbs. on a soft jerk bait near 684. She is back swimming in the lake getting ready to make more bass. Thought I took a photo of the fish but trying to do so with the fish in one hand and the iPhone in the other didn't work out.

Nice fish, there are big ones in all the reservoirs. My biggest is 4 1/2 and I know of an 8 pounder a few years ago on the Big K.

Side note: Don't even let your iphone get splashed on. There's a little litmus paper in the connection socket that tells Apple when they get wet. It voids the warranty. My friend's son dropped his in the snow for a quick moment and they could tell.

Best Always,
Vinny

Went out again the following day and got another one - this time just over 4 lbs so it's not quite as big as the one that I didn;t get a photo of. Again on a soft jerk bait.

The bass are very spooky. After you miss a strike or catch one, they shut down for quite a while.

Yep, that's how they were for me today at the Big K. Slow to bite and quick to shut down. They should get more active soon.

Best to All,
Vinny
