I caught this 19-inch wild brown, along with a few others, on the Chichester Creek.

# 12 hare's ear. Was fishing other nymphs in tandem but the hare's ear was the only thing working.

What a beauty! Well done) I`m planning to hit some Westchester and Putnam streams this weekend if weather conditions allow. And I`m keeping the hare`s ear in mind of course...I like this nymph. Especially flashbacks, they worked nicely last season. What about stoneflies?

I'm going to hit some of the local streams myself this weekend. I've not used the flashbacks much, though I have a bunch of them, can't go wrong with a stonefly, and of course the pheasant tail.

I`m anxious to go, the only thing is those swifts in weather. I`m amazed by the fact that there`s trout in waters so close to a megapolis like NYC. On Sunday I want to take my family to WPR at Cross River for a picnic. I remember I watched an angler fishing this beutiful stream. The fish was visible, stockies most probably. He tried with dries, then woolly bugger but I would bet on a big attractor with a trailed tiny nymph...Have you fished Cross River? Any comments?

Yeah this creek is popular, has quite a lot of fish. There's always the chance of a large reservoir brown. It also has brook trout. It fishes best in the spring.

Last year I went to Catskills in early May. Had two days on different stretches of Beaverkill, lots of action...Planning to go this season too to look for more sophisticated wild trout (vs. hungry stockies that would grab anything). I heard that TU New York chapter is gathering a group for a fishing tour to Catskills some time in June.

Fished Titicus outlet on Saturday. Spring is really a good time to go. Caught 4 rainbows and a brown, all about 10-12 inch. Beautiful morning...And guess what worked! Gold-ribbed hare`s ear. Stonefly worked well as an anchor ;)
The Cross River on Sunday was crowded, still caught a brown down the kimberley bridge while my family was having fun on the lawn
