Trigger X Lures
« on: January 18, 2010, 07:51:03 pm »
I was watching an episode of Linder's Angling Edge and they were using a soft plastic bait by a company called Trigger X. The show's host contended that it was the best bait he had ever used and with his two favorite presentations, he could catch fish in any lake at any time of the year. Like the Gulp line of products by Berkley, the bait comes pre-packaged in a liquid. However, the science behind this liquid is that it contains fish pheromones which will biologically entice fish to bite---even inactive bass. The bait is also biodegradable. Believing all of the hype, I ran to the store to pick up a few today. I know this product has been out for at least a year so I was wondering if anyone has had any success with it before I really invest in them.

I checked their site and they have some nice looking plastic baits.  Sounds like it's worth a try but nothing is a fish magnet. I believe we have to learn location, patterns, depth, and find the fish, then present a nice bait. Attractants may help a bass hold the bait a little longer when setting the hook but I don't think it pulls fish to the bait in any drastic way.

Lindner isn't as bad as Bill Dance and some of the other guys who promote every sponsor as if their lure is the best. Some of the shows are taped on private lakes that if you threw a bottlecap out with a hook a bass would bite it.

I've been wrong before  ;D
