Went out yesterday on Rye side.
Water temps were 75 degrees, 68 degrees in the shady areas of the lake where bass were most active. Wind was bad at first, but turned to a light breeze by 11am.

Trolled for trout at first. Decent sized brown hit within minutes of dropping my spoon in. He had to have been 20-30ft down.
Jumped out and threw out the spoon.  >:(

With no luck on the trout side, we went for bass. SMB and LMB were very active.

Ended the day landing 16, and about 5 more that were hooked up, but never brought to the boat. Ratio was about half LMB, half SMB..

My brother in law landed a 6lb LMB that put up a nice fight!

All fish were released.

Side note: only saw two other boats on the water all day, and one of them was the DEP. Where was everyone!!!??

Nice day on the Big K. A 6 pounder is impressive on any lake.

I always laugh when some veteran reservoir guys make like the lakes are crowded. Since you can't have any kind of engine you have to row and a lot of casual anglers won't do the work.

Best Always,
Vinny

Once or twice, i have crossed paths with other boats. It gets annoying when they start fishing near you, or head into shore along side you.

Some lakes may be more crowded then others.. I just know I had fun when others were out enjoying the day on shore!

For the life of me I can't figure out why guys on boats - with the entire reservoir at their disposal - find it necessary to stop by a guy fishing on the shore and start casting near the same spot  >:(

I thought it was just my bad luck - sorry it's happened to you too phriday  :(
