Drop shotting for Trout
« on: December 22, 2008, 02:19:34 pm »
I just read a long article in In Fishermen about a fishing guide out of Lake Michigan. This article almost sounded like a promotion for the Berkly bait Gulp! Alive minnows but it wasn't.
This guide swears that using these minnows on a jig head "drop shotting" is the the most productive form of catching BIG browns hands down. He had some monsters in the pics.
He was saying that when the water gets cold, he relies on this fishing technique exclusively. Any one ever try fishing for Trout like this? Ever use Gulp! Alive?

That bait does look interesting. Kind of pricey, though.
