the croton river on sunday 9/6
« on: September 08, 2008, 09:13:42 am »
Probably not the best time to go fly fishing :o. The water was so high and fast it was nearly impossible to wade.
So we walked over to the croton reservoir to see how that was and the waterfall looked like Niagara. I saw one guy on a boat out there in the middle too close for my comfort to the falls, i hope had an anchor!
so overall it was a bust, but i got to see the falls at their best and was home in time to see my cousin play the first football game of the year (go raiders).

I cant wait to fish that river on a normal day.

in my opinion i think the river sucks anytime other then the spring. you can only catch the stocked rainbows and browns in the spring and Ive caught some wild browns in the summer. it has really good crap/small mouth and striped bass fishing also.
