Swimbaits
« on: September 03, 2008, 04:11:21 pm »
Do you use them?  I use the cheap rubber swimbaits alot like the storm wildeye swim shad. I have caught bass on the small ones and stripers and blues on the big 6 inch one while surf casting. Their new p'nut bunker is great for the back bays as well.

Anyway i was wondering if you guys had ever used the serious swimbaits that cost 50 bucks and are bigger than any fish i have ever caught? i dont understand why they work. A bass is going to attack a huge trout? seems crazy.

I got into the large ones but realized my shoulder didn't like throwing them all morning. I have seen reports where guys catch nice fish on them in the evening when the fish are really feeding.

Best Always,
Vinny

50 bucks? lol....i have swimbaits worth up to $350. Multiple 200, 150 dollar baits. I throw baits upwards of 13 inches long and over a pound. I fish nothing but swimbaits.

Welcome to the forums to my new swimbait mentor. Some of us have to feed our families at those prices. LOL
The big baits will catch big fish, you just have to stay at it and find the right times and spots.

Best to All,
Vinny

generally yes! Swimbait learning curve is really steep. But it all depends on the kind of bait ur talking about.
