Wassup Phish  :)

I like Rondout a lot.  I don't have a boat there but used to go with a friend on his boat.  It has been about 10 years since we've been on it and we landed some decent browns up to the 7-8 lb. range and some lakers but they were smaller, up to only 5 lbs. or so.  We were a bit disappointed so my friend moved his boat to Cross River where we still fish often.  Since we left Rondout, the fishing has actually picked up.  C'est la vie.  I have been on Pepacton only once.  About 20 years ago I used Al's boat from Al's Trout Shop not far from the dam.  I used to stop by there and he always said I could use it by calling in advance, so I did just that.  Back then I was only fishing for smallies and I recall catching several two-pounders, nothing larger, but had lots of fun.  Yes, I wouldn't mind trying it again some day.  The remote setting is really great and so are those 'monster browns'.  The fishing there has also gotten much better over the years, that's for sure.

It looks like I'll be back at the Neversink a lot this coming season.  I had my own boat there about a dozen years ago and then about a half dozen years ago, I went to use it and someone had deposited a large rock through the hull.  The boat was in crumby condition --- I purchased it for $425 from a local bait shop which had it on consignment from Jack Stewart and J.S. had spray-painted over a lot of small leaks with Aluminum Spray Paint to conceal them --- can you believe that!!!!   Anyway, it was still usable so I was pissed.  But..... I found out my insurance policy covered it and voila..... new boat!!   That's the one I've had on the West Branch for a couple of years and I'm going to move it to Titicus.  But two of my friends recently purchased new boats and both are putting them on the Neversink.  We want to give it another try, so that will be our "long trip" while Cross River and Titicus will be our shorter trips.

Catch u soon.....  G-Man  ;D
