to answer the original question ::), you should not use 8lb pp as a fly fishing leader. Instead i would recommend a furled tapered leader. It combines braid and mono and its tapered so it rolls over well but is strong so its easier to cast the heavier flies.

Togue, how was my answer so offensive to you??? I was answering a question posted by dirtydog. Maybe, you could get away with pp with streamers where presentation is not as important.
