Yea man I got into fly fishing last year. I have always spin fished but...this is a whole different level of fishing. It is so much more than chucking and trolling.
I live in Patterson and the guide from the anglers den in pawling took me to the Housatonic which is like 20 minutes from here. I landed 3 the first trip using rusty colored spinners, size 16. If I were you I would get a lower end orvis rod, because they have a lifetime warranty. I don't think the bedford shop is a orvis dealer but the shop in pawling is. Defiantly need dont wanna break your rod and have to buy a new one.
