Kensico trout report 4/20/08
« on: April 20, 2008, 05:16:27 PM »
My first trip out on the big K, spent the morning with fellow member Tom. We had a good morning considering the time of year and lack of sawbellies. Totaled 3 hits and 2 fish to the boat. 1 small brown about 2.5 lbs on a flat line and 1 nice laker about 4lbs with a 1 oz.of lead and 36 feet of line out. Wind was not our friend today, we'll get back out when the bellies are in and the all temps. go up.Overall, the place looks ready to pop. Thanks to Tom for his hard earned hours on the oars, Da-phish.

phishahn,
A pleasure to have you abort the cabin cruser (haha  ;D). You are welcome anytime ... can't wait for the sawbellies and possible more hits and great fishing.

Ken,
Both you and phishahn use almost an identical light test line set up. This is different from the lead line way I usually fish for trout.  It was great to try a new way for me and I definitely will be using this technique in the future.  The difference with my fishing with you and with phishahn dealt mostly with the weather.  We went out on a beautiful day with little to no wind.  With phishahn, I had strong wind with and a fair amount of chop ... workouts like that really build up your arm muscles. :o

PS Thanks again Ken and phishahn for two great days out. Give me a holler when you want to do it again.
