  i have actually  caught  a 10 lb 8oz   28 in LGB  20 years ago  its mounted  they are here  and i was actually fishing for brook trout in a private lake in Putnam county.  and have seen a couple of 8 and 9 lbers  but not in a long time

Thats pretty damn close to the NYS record!  Was it officially weighed? do you have any pics, etc.?

that's 4 oz over but unless it was properly weighed and entered it won't count.

all of the ny city reservoirs have bassover 8 lbs in them.

  yup and smallies over 6lb  I havent caught  any that huge but have come close but my cousin got one 6 lb 8 oz out of a nyc res

they get big by being smarter than the guys in the rowboats trying to catch them.

 we caught the biggest bass  trout fishing  as soon as i can figure out to put a pic up ill put up the 10 lb 8 oz lg bass   its just not working    AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
