I went up to Sullivan County yesterday with a friend. We took a nice mess of perch and pickerel from Swan Lake. It's only about 10 feet deep. My buddy saw a big walleye come through the ice the week before out of Morningside Lake, another shallow one. I'm hoping Swinging Bridges will be good by the end of this week.

Don't be fooled by Diverting. Drilled a hole near shore and there was only 1.5"! Heard Sodom has 5" from someone standing on the ice when he called me. Boggs is good too from what I heard. Be safe out there!
Take a kid fishing. If there are no kids around or they don't wanna go, take me!

I might try BB someday. I've caught some nice yellow perch there.
Thanks,

I can confirm that the backside of the East Branch has a solid 5" of black Ice, did not check the main part of the reservoir but it looked a little scetchy.

The area I checked was on the main basin in the shallower northern arm. I think my original post might be misunderstood to mean the small basin on the north side of the causeway. I am probably hitting it tommorrow.

Im going to get the rest of my ice fishing gear tomorrow.  I'm checking it out sunday, along with every other person who read the exact spot you think they are at.lol

Seriously, this is my first year ice fishing and walleye are one of my main target, can't wait.  I have been PM about a few spots but no one has been quite as specific.

Just to let folks know, upton lake has about 4 inches on the front of the lake. The back end is still open thanks to those dumb geese. Both sides are around the 2 to 3 inch so need to be carefull there. From what I have seen some trout are coming out but haven't seen any large ones yet.
If you can't dazzle em with brilliance,Baffle em with bullsh_t

We were up on Swinging Bridges reservoir in Sullivan County on Friday. We caught a bunch of tasty crappie, dink perch and walleye, lost a BIG walleye at the hole, but the highlight of the day was feeding this beautiful young bald eagle that showed up on the ice whenever a fish came up. Blindly into the glare, I shot my first video on my Iphone. I'm not sure how to create the link here, but I did put it up on Youtube if you type in Feeding a Bald Eagle While Ice Fishing." He would nail the shorts we threw on the ice about ten feet from us.
