Wife said we can go on a fishing trip........Any ideas?
« on: December 25, 2011, 08:39:05 pm »
First of all happy holidays to all.
Carolyn my wife and my favorite fishing buddy wants to go out on a fishing trip.  Somewhere within 5 hour drive next week.  Trout or maybe Northern Pike are the game.  Obvious place would be Salmon River.  Am I overlooking something closer that wouldn't involve as much snow/drive?  Am I missing out on some sweet fishing experience this time of year?  I have about 4-5 days we can be gone and wouldn't mind a fishing lodge/guide service/rental house or any ideas you guys would have.  What fishing would you do if you could go anywhere within 5 hour drive next week?

I look forward to your ideas!  Don't be afraid to add a link ;D

I wish I could tell you but I can't. I wish you the best trip possible! I am just very happy you have a spouse that would go out with you in this weather. My fianc? loves fishing with me, as long as the fishing is good or in good climate! She thinks I'm nut fishing in this weather or ice fishing. She said word for word, let them ( meaning you guys) go out with you in the cold I'm going to stay nice and warm here and dont bring back any fish to clean, make sure there clean first!!  ::)
Lets go Yankee's

I'm with BIG GAME E.  Eric Haataja is the man.  You have to go to Milwaukee to hook up with him but he will put you on huge Browns.

There's quality fish right off Mexico and Oswego in NYS in May.  5 hours.  Plus you already have the license.

No need to drive all the way to Michigan, though I have seen the Babe Winkelman show w/ Capt Eric and they get some slobs.

No idea where this is from, but saw it elsewhere and thought it fitting since we were discussing fish of a lifetime...No issue w/ angler size on this one.  Sick the way it's all spawned up.  Talk about fish of a lifetime!
