Suttons are Back
« on: December 23, 2011, 09:54:31 am »
It looks like the Sutton Company has found a plater and are now making spoons again, just got of the phone with them and was able to order a bunch of 44s.

That's good news
I stopped in their store (Naples, NY) last summer, and the owner Jim Stafford really made it sound like it was going to be impossible to find a plater.
He seemed like a really good guy, so good for him (and us).

Chris, Thanks for the heads up, I just ordered some 44's among others. Only had 1 of those which i picked up at a small bait store in Maine over the summer. Hope to get out and do some trolling next week.

John, They write out invoices by hand, don't think they've got a website!

I think the only place you can get suttons right now is directly through them. The link above is a little dated. I think now that they are up and running some of his dealers will be getting inventory. I have purchased them online @ TMN Fishing Tackle & Savant Spoons. TMN has much better serevice.

Finally got my suttons in the mail i called the other day to see where they were and found out they hadnt sent them out because they were missing one #23 hammer brass/silver. so i told him to just give me something close in size to the 23. ChrisD im guessing you just use the smallest snap swivel you can find right ? I was suprised i thought they would have just fitted them with removable rings they either braze the rings on or solder them on when you change the trebbles out do you just cut that ring and put a new ring and hook on?
Thanks
