Are we allowed to clean and cook the fish right on the ice :o?? I am so looking forward to this ;D
I guess my question is it allowed to fillet the fish on NYC reservoirs during ice fishing season? because its not allowed during the ice free season. Or is it just something that the authorities not pay attention to as long as its done correctly?

Legal anytime Manny.  You cannot dicard fish parts into freshwaters.  If you want to fillet the fish and eat it onsite and then dispose of the carcass after you leave the lake it's fine.  I would definitely keep the carcass to prove length of size limit fish if you do get checked.

Nick, a small propane o gas stove is all you need.  I've seen some pretty elaborate rigs, but bringing a stove out and heating up soup, chili, or frying up some fish and venison is a time honored tradition in icefishing circles.
