Fishing Closet
« on: December 01, 2011, 04:06:36 pm »
Anybody have any pics of their fishing closets? I am trying to figure out the best way to store all my fishing stuff in 1 designated closet.  Thinking about a rod rack attached to the wall of the closet and then everything else on the floor. Maybe the net hanging inside the closet from a hook/nail, etc.

My hunting stuff (guns, crossbow, equipment, clothes, etc) will be fine at my parents as I only need it a few weeks per year, but I need to have my fishing stuff with me at all times.

LOL I have this fishing gear everywhere and my fiance is going to kill me LOLOL ;D If I had a separate man cave room. I am sure I would still have some sort of fishing gear in different areas of the house!

Yea, at my parents house I keep the rods, tackle box, net, bait bucket, etc in the shed outside and my FF, clothes, etc. in my bedroom closet.  When I lived in NYC, I didnt take anything with me since I needed to go to my parents house before fishing anyway. Now I dont want to do that each time before fishing, so I am going to bring it with me. I got 1 narrow but tall (8 foot) closet in the hallway that will be perfect for all my gear.

Biz can you mount a rod rack somewhere your girl won't mind? Maybe in your office? Then put your oars, tackle box, boat seats etc in the closet..the rods are the only thing I keep out of the closet..may be put some shelfs and hooks..

I love fishing/hunting but its a 900sq. ft 1BR, so i dont have a den/trophy room to put everything, and honestly im trying to keep the place nice.  Between brand new hardwood floors, furniture, paintings, etc...I feel like leaving fishing stuff out will just make the place look like crap.

I might not even bring my deer heads, coyote, etc. It will kill me not being able to see it everyday, but maybe I will cherish it more at my parents place in its trophy room.

Biggame - I am thinking of mounted a vertical rod rack in the closet.

Yea, i do too during the fishing season, pretty much everything stays in it. Figure if someone is going to break into a BMW its going to be to steal the car and not the fishing stuff anyway.

BPS was having a sale I think, I picked up a wallmount rod rack in oak.  It was $10.  Free shipping after $75 now, but when I got it, it was $1 shipping after $50.

Put the vertical rack inside the door and a ll the stuff in side the closet..
Manny if you keep your rods in the car, keep them in a tube..those steelhead rods tips break very easily..
