When you have the FF transducer on the back of the boat,....Does the picture on the screen  mean it sees the fish in the back of the boat as well?  How far would you say the range of this finder is ( lets say you are anchored)? 20ft, 10 ft 5 ft?
I think it gets wider in deeper water but I think 20 to 30ft circle Max!

maybe on yours the 160 has the dual beam..my 190c has a single beam..extremely accurate..10 to 15ft circle

from what I understand the dual beam is two cones based on a degree, 30 and 60 degrees maybe? anyway, the deeper the water you are in, the bigger the area your FF is monitoring. It's definitely more than your boat. Maybe a diameter of 20 feet in all directions? maybe 40? im not sure. Once you know the degrees of the cones, its simple math.  The black fish are in the tigher cone (more directly under your boat), the white fish are within the outer cone.

Dual beam is 20 and 60 degrees.  The 60 degrees covers an area equal to the depth.
