Fished Kensico from 11-4:30 and landed 4 bass and 1 yellow perch.  Lost the biggest smallie I've ever hooked and was pretty bummed.  I had it to the boat, but didn't want to lift it and couldn't get a chance to lip it, and it got off.  Gave me one hell of a fight on my crankbait rod and 12lb line.  Oh well.  Also saw a few smallies follow the crankbaits and taking a shot at it but missed.  Here's a few pics.

Nice job.  That's a nice LM.   I thought about fishing Kensico today but stayed local instead.

Wow. That LMB is awesome. Great catch! That bass looks like an easy 5 pounds. What did that hog hit?

That's a really nice largemouth Shawn. From the pics I'm assuming the
winds died down in the afternoon?

It was a 20" fish.

On behalf of the bass, I send her thanks for the complements.  I don't know the weight, as I don't own a scale.  That fish hit a rattle-trap, the same one seen in the other photo.

The wind did die down around 4 PM, but this fish was caught around 1 PM.  This was caught in one of the coves.

Those rattle traps are great producers. I always seem to overlook them in my tackle box. Need to change that.

john,

They're pretty good to vary the dept, but not that great if you need a fast moving, deep diving lure.  I'd say it's a great 5-7 foot lure.
