Cold Morning
« on: November 19, 2011, 10:31:55 am »
11/19/2011 - Cold but worth it.  I caught several Lakers this morning over on the Rye Lake side.  Day started out weird with a Deer jumping in the water and swimming directly across the lake.  Snapped a couple of photos but really needed my good camera with telephoto.  First picture you can see the deer to the left of the bouy and beyond it.  Next picture is a Laker about 22".  Brought that one home.  Then an 18 incher I threw back.  Had a few more on that gave me the slip.  Good morning.  Was off the lake by 9:00.

It was windy enough that I only had to cast out and drift over my spot while I jigged it a bit.  I had about 300 yard drifts over the spot.  I would then row back upwind again and drift back over the spot.

Jules I probably rowed right by you..I got 2 lakers about the same as you 22, 18 inch...I got pushed around the last 3 weekends by the SW winds..but the fish are holding to the same patterns..50-51 degree water..didn't go down further yet>>>??so all in all caught some good eats and got a full body workout rowing against the wind constantly..can't complain..where are the Browns???

Thanks john ..I question myself at times, how what stage of fishaholic I'm at.or better yet Brown-o-holic..I guess I won't stop till I hit my goal of a 10 pound plus Brown or Laker...

Got out of A8 this morning a trolled cranks 7:00-9:00am after
which the west wind got pretty ridiculous. Shore guys both bait and
spoons on both sides of bridge didn't seem to be getting any action.
Surface temp was 50.1F on the west side of the bridge and 49.6F
on the east side. Water level was down again by a foot or so.
Landed a 24 inch Laker on the Kensico side right in front of A9
15ft down in 50 FOW. Then landed an 18 incher on the west side
of bridge at 40ft. Marked most Lakers 40-50ft and a few possible Browns
at 20ft but no takers. Both fish released, nice morning excercise.
