I'm planning on going this weekend for sure, I'll let you know. Hoping the trout will be more active after this cold weather...

Last week on Friday I was out and the water level was up.  Not to where it was in in early August, but quite a bit over the week before.  I thought that meant they were bringing it back up.  Went out yesterday and it was back down again.

Spent a lot of time on the water yesterday.  Don't know if that shows the patience or the stupidity of a fisherman.  Concentrated on trying for Lakers most of the day.  Finally decided what the heck, I might as well blow the whole day so I rowed over to area 10 and across the lake from there too.  (I'm in area 12).  Caught nothing.  Saw the DEP boats racing after birds and shooting flares.  What a job.  Not sure they accomplish anything.  They scare up the birds, which fly to another spot, then they go scare them up there too.  Went on all day.

Finally started rowing back to the Rye side and fished Bass on the way back.  Caught a bunch of them.  Mostly on spinners, but then I found a hole and sat there with the remaining bellies and caught a few more.  Lost a bigg'un as it took the bait, ran with it, jumped out of the water and got me hooked up around a branch, all before I picked up my rod.  This hole was pretty good.  It was 50' deep about 25' away from shore.

Beautiful calm day and the water was like glass by 4:00 or so.  Lots of sun.  Got a sunburn and needed my shades.  8)

I checked out my boat yesterday at #8 and the water was still down a foot or two from normal levels.  Being solo, bringing the boat back up on shore at my spot would have been tough so I decided to fish East Branch instead.

Thanks. It's surprising how long the low water condition has been
continuing this year.

Its really low. Probably 30 to 40 feet below normal. This is regarding WB reservoir.
