New reports?
« on: September 24, 2011, 11:32:58 am »
Haven't seen a post here in almost two weeks.  Anybody catching anything?  I'm going out this afternoon to test out my new FF (and hopefully catch something).

Please let us know how you fare. The last few reports I've been getting
from friends have all been pretty discouraging.

Looks like low wind tomorrow morning on Kensico, but probably raining...I doubt I'll go this weekend.

Lion and I floated over huge schools of bait on CF today. A few small bites, but NADA! The cormorants were eating like pigs! saw a few nice fish jump.
Take a kid fishing. If there are no kids around or they don't wanna go, take me!

Saw lots of bait also.  Went out of area 12, Rye side 3-7PM.  Trolled around, sat a while, threw Sawbellies, jigs, spoons, plugs.  Also nada.

Spotted fish around the bait.  Dropped right down to them.  Nothing.

Beautiful night.

Thanks Jules , I have had the same results my last 2 outings targeting browns out of K13 as well as C Falls , I think I am going to give it a rest with the change of season and this crazy weather hot again after a week of cold mornings and night starting to change the surface temp and now warm again . I like steady  consistant weather temps in either direction !!!!!!!

Went out this morning area 13. Fished from 7:30 to 10:00. Marked lots of bait at varied depths. Surface temps were between 68.8-70. Trolled LC, missed one fish at four colors, another at six colors and finally hooked up at six colors to a twenty four inch Laker. There was a slight breeze saw an Osprey all and all not a bad day!

Nice to hear the bigger Lakers are being caught, It wont be long but probably too long for me!! Hunting season is on and its going to be real hard to squeeze in some fishing .

A 24 inch Laker at 6 colors? That's the highest up-the-water-column decent Laker I've heard about since the early Summer. Well done Larry!

Thanks Ken,
I Trolled as low as 7.5 colors in waters as deep as 110 feet at varied speeds with out a bump. The missed fish and the one I caught were both at six colors in two different areas about 45 mins a part. I was moving quite slow between .5 and 1.3 using my gps. I'm not sure how accurate it is at such low speeds. The fish I caught came in about 75 ft of water.
