I have to say, I use frog imitating lures from time to time, mostly chuggers and jitterbugs instead of the soft plastics, but I don't see nearly the live frogs that I remember seeing as a kid. I spot one here and there or hear them calling, but not like before.
Not sure if it's pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers or what, but I can remember going to parks with ponds when I was young and seeing a lot of 3-5" bullfrog tadpoles swimming around and they're pretty much absent these days.
I do hear the peepers in spring and the grey tree frogs and toads at night, but the deep bull calls are few and far between.
