how would you fish for Bass? Bass is much more tastier than trout but all the bass I have ever hooked were actually while fishing for trout. My friend Don, usually throws in a line from the boat towards the shore , few feet away with a sinker and a minnow, and slowly drag the line at the bottom and bounce it if you can. On CF with wind that is so tough to do! and so much more work than fishing for trout, unless you are trolling.
But you are right, time to switch gear and get what you can. I did try for Bass on Tuesday for 10 minutes or so, hooked a small one but I had only sawbellies.
Next trip upstate, this weekend.

See my report from opening day of the Bass Season on CFalls....After no luck with trout, I threw senkos along the shores and picked up a few nice ones.  Last fall, I used sawbellies near the shorelines and caught some nice 3-5lbers.

I noticed a few boats are missing from my boat area # 3 on CF. I wonder if people moved them to another reservoir or different boat area? Hopefully they weren't stolen...

Jack told me that we should be worried specially now with bad economy... my boat is still with a thin wire rope but he called my area #9 a hearbrake ridge. he said very few people will attempt to move the boat uphill and it will need 2 people and chances of soomeone spotting are good. So they steal at easier loactions.
Nut it is horrible to see it is happening but don't forget DEC is removing boats as well.

yea Boat Area # 3 where I am (by Jack's house) is a pretty decent hill as well, and then your on Croton Falls Road...so hopefully its just a case of people moving their own boats, etc...it worked out well for me though, because me and another boat were on each side a of big tree right on the water, and now thats boat gone, so im all alone.
