It depends on the lure and your trolling speed, i figure I get 6 feet per color with a flutter spoon at average speed of 1.5 mph, I have a speed sensor for my fish finder so I have pretty good idea on how fast I'm trolling.

Actually it is a pretty simple unit, I bought an Lowrance X67C Ice Machine for ice fishing and it has speed sensing cababilities. So this spring I bought a new transom mount transducer, speed sensor and bracket arm mount which I modified by adding a wider aluminum plate to accept both the tranducer and the speed sensor, when I get a chance I will take a picture and post.
