Either by boat or shore any way possible. Because Montrose said that the Biologist did find it to be a trout lake and I was wondering if there was a success rate that we had on this site that would negate there findings. Ken has also found different findings in his experiences on othe bodies of water.

Lion,
I fished that lake a few times only, got some stockies browns, yellow perch and LMB. My best advice is for you to actually face the music and take a good hack at it. You got a boat, fish finder, rods and tackle..Stop thinking so much and do it..Me I'm facing the music and going to Cross river in search of a trophy brown..Bottom line is that the stage is set, time to step up to the plate and swing for the fences!!!!

I would think the study stating Titicus contains low oxygen levels may support my theory of poor vegetation.

It would be interesting to see how the low oxygen levels compare to years past. I remember fifteen, twenty years ago, Titicus was like going to the fish store for big browns (and bass).
When they lowered the water to work on the dam I'm guessing about seven or eight years ago, it really put a hurt on the trout but it was slowly coming back. Two years ago I did so well there I didn't need to use my boat by the dam and enjoyed the solitude of the back end in the boat I have there and still nailed browns regularly. Last year I was on the road 11 weeks beginning in May so i never got a chance to check it out. My intuitive sense is that all of the lakes in the Croton watershed (those that don't get their water from upstate, like Kensico and West Branch) have suffered a decline in water quality over the last two decades plus that I have been fishing them. The water was clearer and less weedy. And sawbellies were more abundant; schools of them were bigger and more abundant. It was not unusual to see a blitz on a reservoir just like blues and stripers marauding bunker in the salt water, with gulls diving into the top water commotion.

I actually have yet to see an schools of sawbellies in my 4 trips on CF. for the first time, I saw couple of fish breaking the surface. And if you read my report elsewhere..even upstate fishermans are not getting ample hits. And we are all rusty in the beginning of the season hooking fish on every hit. We get better with time however, not getting hits does not help at all.

Lion,
I think your instinct is correct plus people don't like to post when they get skunked..but now is the time to take a good swing..Have you used your boat at all??
