Yes the "crappie hole" is south of the submerged Muscoot dam, so technically NC.

Ken, the "pinkies" or rosies sometimes are light pink/peach colored fathead minnows.  Same as crappie minnows only light in color.  I think it's a genetic mutation that's been isolated for bait purposes.

PS, Lakers love 'em too.

Yeah I have even seen post that said "Muscoot Crappie hole" But I was talking with Trout Stalker and he pointed out to me on the Map the location and he is 100% correct I was really as confused. Unless everyone else is talking about another crappie hole on Muscoot?

I'm looking at Google Maps, and it still looks like Muscoot to me? Looks to me like all along 100 is Muscoot, until it hits 118, then it becomes New Croton?

Pink Shiners that I bought at Bobs

Pink? Do you mean packaged colored dead shiners? Or were the
live shiners pink?

hey ken these shiners are refferred to as pink tuffys or pinky's they are a orange colored fat head...they work great for really all types of species but unfortunately they are a seasonal bait...normally from around march to may my distributors carry them?

If you are ever on rt 35 going over the cherry st bridge and look south down the res you will see a small pump house...this is where the dam is that separates muscoot from new croton...its only about a 6ft drop from muscoot into croton so you probably wouldnt see it on google maps and even when you look from 35 if you are not looking for the pump house it just looks like the water keeps going and is one body of water!

Thanks John. Been buying bait at Bobs B&T since 1980 and I've never seen them before.

mike, read back up the thread a bit...Crappie hole is definitely in NC rez not Muscoot.  Common misconception though.
