when i get them... i get them from flyshak.com they are only 0.89$ a fly. i thought they would be cheap and poorly made, so i bought like 20. they are really nice and they dont fall apart.

I tie nearly all my nymphs cause I loose so many. Dries I buy from Orvis. Their flies are first class and always so consistent. I buy locally tied flies on some creeks when I'm in the area, though these are not always the best, unless you know who your getting them from.

I get my flies at Orvis and Urban Angler store on the 5 Av. When travelling I also visit local fly shops. I have tried tying flies-some basic wet patterns-to practice different elements. I'm at the very initial stage and need a lot of improvement. I think, I should tie at least some basic nymphs..I lose many as well

yeah i would like to tie flies as well but i feel i have so many hobbies already and not enough time to spend on them.  until i tie my own, i guess it will be orvis all the way and any cool local shops that have some nice looking flies to offer.

discountflies.com is really good and real cheap! They have price breaks after 5 flies.

I get mine from the anglers den its 15 minutes up 22 from the eb.  The flies hold up well and they make me custom patterns when i ask for something specific.

I've placed a couple orders from here - http://www.millersflyshop.com
Big selection and the shipping's reasonable.  Flies have held up well so far.

John, FYI the place is called Lourdes.  I've picked up materials there in the past.

I get mine from Bedford Sportsman, Shu Fly and the Orvis store in Manhattan.  Im actually going there today.  Wife and friends dragged me to the city, so I figure Orvis here I come.
Twice last year on the west branch other fly fisherman gave me a fly that they were catching them on.  Blew me away how nice some people were on the river.  Being my first year fly fishing, I had a false idea of what these guys were like.  Looking back I think I was jealous of all the cool gadgets carried on the vest and too lazy to learn how to do it.  Glad I am figuring it out, think it helped to have so much access to great fishable water.
Never mind who you thought I was, Im rick James Bitch!

yeah i know the owner howard pretty well, we call it howard's lol. he never restocks the shelves because of such minimal buisness so some of the fly tying stuff i buy falls apart instantly. Dont be surprised if hes drunk or his dog pissed on the floor. and hes always smoking, but  hes a great source of information, if hes drunk you will be in there for 2 hours listening to random stories.

I've only been to Lourdes once, it was about 2 years ago and the owner was drunk and the dog pissed on the floor..

Can't go wrong with Bedford Sportsman..  they also give tying lessons.

I get all my flies from either Bedford Sports or Orvis in Yonkers.  Expensive but pretty good quality
