Yes, I'm on the Main Lake. Boat Area # 3 on Croton Falls Road.  I basically only fish with live bait (sawbellies and shiners).  Hopefully this spring I will get into some Brown Trout.  I only fished Sept and October last year.

The water level is really high right now, I wish it would stay like that.  Jack Stewart said though, that they are doing work for the next 2-3 years and it will be really low again this year.

Biz-R-Oworld, put in the time in April/May/early June, and you will get browns, absolutely guaranteed.   I assume you are in the "main" lake;  that is, the lake part with the dam on it (not that "side" lake to the east of Stoneleigh causeway).    If  not, get Stewart to move you to the main part, asap.   I am not giving away too much in saying that if you fish sawbellies, troll the shorelines, and basically stay in the 40 foot depth range, you will hit them.   No way you can miss.     Don't waste your time in the middle of the lake (some do), and fish the points and dropoffs.

I like that the fact that decent areas may be still open there Bluefish. I called the DEP office this morning but they are only open Tues, Wed, and Fri....that new? As a former NY city employee, cutting costs and
corners are nothing new with them.

hours have been that way for a while. On the off days they are working in the field. mike is a good guy. Very helpful. They also inspect boats every other Saturday
Take a kid fishing. If there are no kids around or they don't wanna go, take me!

Jimmy  -  Thanks.

I get the same feeling reading "Ken H's" posts.    No doubt in my mind this guy knows what he is doing, just based on his posts.

bluefish - thanks.
Jimmy's certainly right about the value of hands on experience.
But it takes a person with who knows what they're doing to be able to
appreciate if another person knows what they're doing.
