Vinny and I met at Kensico around 5:30 just before the sun was up. We decided to take it slow while it was dark and waited for some light to start to load the boat and get out on the water. We started about 6am on the water and we immediately headed for a hump that Vinny previously fished with success in the past. We were using topwater baits. I was using a Sammy. I had one hit but didn't hook up the fish. As I continued to practice walking the dog I finally got another blow up. Finally I hooked a fish. It was a one pounder or so. After that we pounded every area we could with all sorts of baits. We threw cranks and worms Vinny was throwing his spinnerbait and his plastic craw. Were fishing sparse weeds and all the laydowns that looked fishy with no fish to show for it. During the morning my buddy Mike called and asked how we were doing and he told me he was out all night on Kensico and the bite was tough for him also. he explained how he was going to stay the rest of the day and when I was finished would it be possible to borrow my depth finder. I told him as soon as I was done I would pass by on the way home and drop it off to him. Vinny and I finished up to, about 12pm. I drove down to Mike's boat area and met himto give my depth finder. Mike then proceeded to try to convince me to stay a couple hours with him. Mike and I fished a couple hours and I picked up one nice two and a half pounder on a spinnerbait. we fished a couple rocky points but no takers. The bite was tough the whole day.
