Sam and I decided to take a quick trip to our favorite reservoir on Friday morning. We have a few spots that always get us some fish and they're still there. We probably saw more fish then we caught though. They were hitting my Lucky Craft Sammie and Sam's Zara Spook but nothing stayed on the hook.
The setup of the morning was a Texas-rigged brown Brush Hog with a Hookerz 5/0 EWG corkscrew hook. It was setup on my Shimano Citica baitcaster with 50lb Power Pro braid. We had hits on Pumpkin 5" worm but the Brush Hog was the most tempting to the bass. Here's the best of the bass, a 2.5lb largemouth on the Brush Hog.
People have been wondering about getting a depthfinder. We used my Eagle 480 to find a nice big hump in the middle of what looks like nothing but deep water. Without that info, it would have been random luck to find fish hanging out there.
Best to All,
Vinny
