People bash banjo minnows like there is no tommorow. Personally, I've caught fish on them. Weighless into lilypad pockets they do damage.

Yea I've read plenty of negative reviews . I'm gonna try them on strippers in late March.

I don't think you'll get any positive reviews from strippers either...

Sorry, couldn't resist.  ;D

I've never used them but it looks like opinions are widely split between
them working well and being complete garbage. Personally I think anything
that looks like a "minnow" will at some point or another catch fish. Alot of things
that don't even look like minnows do as well. Good luck and please let us know
how you do.

I never tried the banjo minnow, but I did try the "bionic minnow"...many years ago I saw a infomerical for the bionic minnow and made my parents buy me the set....i was given multiple heads and then you screw in the backs of different colors, etc....I never caught anything on them...always preferred live minnows/shiners/sawbellies.

A few decades ago I saw a guy pull up a 3-4 lb LMB using one of these.
Maybe I should get one.

I have a Coleman "TELESCOPING FISHING ROD"....I usually put it in my bookbag and bring it as carry-on when I fly places, I used in Colorado this summer to fish from shore at a reservoir and caught 2 rainbow trout with it.

My lil bro wanted one of those but I got him A regular poll instead. I've seen youtube videos where they pull up big fish useing the pocket fisherman.

as long as the fish isnt too big, you can catch fish with anything! my friends and I used to catch 15" - 18" LM Bass on 6lb test line tied to a stick, using a hook and worm.

Lol Yea pretty much...my Gf father came with me fishing once and bet me he would catch more with a beer can/ string vs my rod/reel. He actually caught a 11in lmb  and a nice size Perch.

Ok that little guy right there does some serious damage. Rig it weightless and pitch it into laydows or brush or some vegetation and hang on.

as for the strangest thing? Ive caught a bass on a 2 or so inch piece of stick (broken off a branch) tied a hook to it and tied my line to it. I saw this guy cruising vegetation points and edges, maybe 5 or 6th cast, BAM!

Its not what you are fishing, but how you are fishing it! As long as you make the bass think its baitfish, dont matter what your using.

They have alot of uses, not just bass. I caught a few lakers on Lake George, (trolling w/plugs) that had some type of soft white grub in their bellies. I guess they were having a hard time digesting,Phish.
