Same here. But I heard dark purple work well under some conditions.

Never tried purple but black and olive that you probably have

ye i usually use black... never use olive because it looks like weeds. idk people say purple works in conditions when fish are trying to find food.

i think they would work, i never fished purple ones though.  I have used, yellow, white and black and even brown.  Black and white seem to work the best.

Purple buggers are very popular for Steelhead. Some guys attach an egg bead at the top.

Nick, you mentioned weeds...trouts feed on them as well. But, I think, they take olive buggers for other reasons, mostly because they resemble some aquatic species. Interestingly, carps like purple flies)
